  • Just remember, people: It's okay to say no to situations that make you feel uncomfortable. So don't feel bad if you turn down a party invite, or if you go to a party and have to leave early. That's your right as a human being. Your sobriety should ALWAYS come first!
  • I've actually found being the designated driver to give me purpose not to drink. I'm there to make sure others get home safely. Yeah, you have to deal with drunks, but you'll feel better knowing they're OK.
Also, if you find you're at a party with people you need to drink to tolerate, maybe you're at the wrong party to begin with.
  • Great strategy, @JoshuaShea! And you're helping others, too!
  • @JoshuaShea @DeanD great advice. i notice more and more that people drink for every darn occasion... and it's disheartening. my hope is that more people will just refuse to engage in it. not even one or two... living life free from it!!

anyone else have some tips? parties they are attending and concerned?
